First of all check a bands web site to see if they have Reading or Leeds listed as a tour date, That's pretty obvious if they have!
Check there tour dates around the festival for instance if a band is fully booked every day until Reading/Leeds then has the weekend un booked, its pretty good indicator.
If a band has been touring recently with another band that has already confirmed for the the festival.
Bands releasing albums have a higher chance of playing festivals.
Usually any band that played high on the bill on the previous year will not being returning for the next Festival
